Union Minister Amit Shah Inaugurates Dairy Sector Initiatives in Madhya Pradesh

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah participated as Chief Guest at the Gopalak Sammelan at Dussehra Maidan in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on October 3, 2026, where he inaugurated multiple dairy and cooperative sector projects with significant financial investments. The event was part of the government's vision of 'Sahkar se Samriddhi' aimed at strengthening India's cooperative sector and making it modern and self-reliant.

Infrastructure Projects and Investments

Shri Amit Shah digitally laid the foundation stone for a Milk Processing Plant in Ujjain with a capacity of 3 lakh litres per day, to be established at a cost of ₹255 crore. He inaugurated a Product Dairy Plant in Bhopal with a capacity of 40,000 litres per day, built at a cost of ₹16.5 crore. Additionally, a state-of-the-art State-Level Central Laboratory constructed at a cost of ₹12.42 crore was inaugurated in Bhopal. The strengthening works of the Mini Dairy Plant in Shivpuri, undertaken at a cost of ₹6.5 crore, were also digitally inaugurated, representing a total investment of ₹290.42 crore in dairy infrastructure enhancement.

Financial Distributions and Beneficiary Programs

During the program, bonus was distributed to members of Bhopal and Indore Milk Unions through a single click mechanism. Financial assistance was provided to Gaushalas (cow shelters) through the same single-click system. A total dividend of ₹15.10 crore was distributed among members of Dairy Cooperative Societies. The event also featured felicitation of 'Gopalak Didis' (women livestock rearers) highlighting their role in the dairy cooperative ecosystem, and distribution of two sanction letters under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana.

Additional Initiatives and Exhibitions

Prior to the main event, Shri Amit Shah inaugurated the State-Level Exhibition on Nyaya Sanhita and visited exhibition sections showcasing the achievements of Madhya Pradesh Police in implementing new criminal laws. A Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged between KRIBHCO and the Madhya Pradesh State Biodiversity Board for developing an urban forest in Bhopal under the 'Morvan Project'. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Mohan Yadav was present at the occasion, which emphasized making cooperative institutions an effective vehicle for strengthening the rural economy and enhancing farmers' prosperity.
