Amity Global Research Hub Launch
Amity University announced the inauguration of the Amity Global Research Hub (AGRH) at the Consulate General of India in New York on 21 August 2026. The launch was conducted under the theme “Shaping the Future through Emerging Technologies.”
The event introduced the AGRH website and research brochure and included panel discussions on multi‑sector partnerships, emerging technologies, and opportunities to strengthen India‑US collaboration. Representatives from several leading U.S. academic and research institutions participated, namely Rutgers University, Georgia Institute of Technology, the City University of New York (CUNY), Long Island University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and the National Cancer Institute.
Chancellor Dr. Aseem Chauhan, also Chairman of AGRH, emphasized the need for globally connected research ecosystems capable of tackling complex technological and societal challenges. Dr. Sandeep Mittan, Director of AGRH and Vice President of Research and Development, outlined the hub’s purpose as a platform to foster international research partnerships and advance innovation between India and the United States. Prof. (Dr.) W. Selvamurthy, President of the Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation, highlighted collaboration as essential for shaping the next generation of research and innovation.
AGRH is positioned as a multidisciplinary platform that will bring together academic institutions, industry, innovators, entrepreneurs, and policy makers from India, the United States, and the broader global ecosystem. It aims to facilitate collaborative research addressing global challenges, promote knowledge exchange, and create pathways from discovery to technology development, entrepreneurship, and societal impact.
The hub’s focus areas include artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, advanced materials, biotechnology, healthcare technologies, cybersecurity, space technologies, and clean and sustainable technologies. By establishing a presence in New York—one of the world’s most diverse and dynamic research and innovation ecosystems—the hub seeks to connect Indian researchers with U.S. counterparts, investors, start‑ups, and technology companies.
Overall, the launch of AGRH marks a strategic step in expanding Amity University’s international research collaborations and strengthening the India‑US knowledge partnership across multiple sectors and disciplines.
