Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Highlights 48 Researchers in Elsevier’s World’s Top 2% Scientists List

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham announced on 28 October 2026 that forty‑eight of its scholars have been included in the 2026 update of the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list compiled by Elsevier’s Data Repository. The selection is based on citation data from Scopus and a composite citation score that accounts for co‑authorship and author position. Researchers are evaluated in two distinct categories: a career‑long segment that measures citation impact up to the end of 2025, and a single‑year segment that reflects citations received during 2025. Seventeen Amrita researchers appear in the career‑long category, while forty‑four are listed in the single‑year category; thirteen scholars feature in both, resulting in a total of forty‑eight distinct individuals. The honoured faculty work across a range of disciplines, including medicine, engineering, materials science, artificial intelligence, networking and telecommunications, energy and education. Inclusion criteria require a composite score placing a scientist among the top 100,000 globally or within the top two percent of their specific subfield. Elsevier, the global publisher of scientific research, maintains the Scopus database that provides the citation metrics used for the ranking.
