Bharat Buildcon 2026 – Day Two Overview

The second day of Bharat Buildcon 2026, India’s premier building‑materials and construction exhibition, was held on 19 June 2026 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi. The event continued to draw strong footfalls from domestic and international buyers, architects, developers, contractors, manufacturers, traders, policymakers, consultants and industry associations.

Participation and Reach

Exhibitors reported visitors from over 90 countries and more than 100 Indian cities, creating extensive buyer‑seller meetings, product showcases and knowledge‑sharing sessions. The expo is scheduled to run until 21 June 2026, and organisers expect tens of thousands of additional visitors in the remaining days.

Sector Significance

India’s construction sector contributes nearly 9 % of GDP and supports over 51 million jobs, making it the country’s second‑largest employment generator after agriculture. Industry estimates place the Indian construction market at USD 685 billion in 2025, with a projection to exceed USD 1.24 trillion by 2034 driven by rapid urbanisation, infrastructure investment, housing demand, industrial expansion and government‑led initiatives such as PM Gati Shakti, the National Infrastructure Pipeline, Smart Cities Mission, Housing for All and Make in India.

Government Interaction

Shri Ashok Kumar Meena, Secretary of the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, visited the exhibition, toured stalls and discussed innovative solutions for water conservation, efficient water management and sustainable infrastructure. He urged participants to share inputs that reduce water wastage and aligned his remarks with the government’s vision for strengthening water security and sanitation infrastructure.

Industry Conferences

Two high‑impact conferences were hosted: a Real Estate Market Outlook session and an International Confederation of Trade and Industry (ICTI) forum. These sessions featured domestic and international speakers and covered emerging market trends, infrastructure investments, export opportunities, technological advancements and global trade dynamics.
