The Ministry of Cooperation provided clarification regarding the availability of Bharat Taxi in Purvanchal areas of Uttar Pradesh. Bharat Taxi is a cooperative-led digital app mobility platform operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL), a multistate cooperative society registered under the MSCS Act 2002. The platform currently provides services in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, but has not been officially launched in Uttar Pradesh, specifically in the Purvanchal region.
The government emphasized that it has not incurred any expenditure on the development, promotion, maintenance, or operation of Bharat Taxi. STCL funds all aspects of the platform through its own capital without government financial support.
STCL periodically reviews the application's performance covering key operational and service-related parameters including customer experience, grievances received, fare competitiveness, platform performance, and effectiveness of technology systems. The application is benchmarked against prevailing practices in the taxi aggregation sector to identify areas for improvement.
Based on review findings and user feedback, appropriate corrective measures are undertaken including strengthening the technology platform, addressing software-related issues, enhancing platform features, reviewing fare-related aspects, and improving service delivery. Regular technical and operational monitoring is conducted to support reliable and efficient platform functioning.
