Bharat Tex 2026, organized by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation with support from the Ministry of Textiles, was conceived around the Prime Minister's 5F Vision of Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign. The event served as a comprehensive platform for Business-to-Business (B2B), Government-to-Government (G2G) and Business-to-Government (B2G) engagement among global and domestic stakeholders across the complete textile value chain.
The 2026 edition recorded significant participation metrics: 6,090 overseas buyers (including buying houses) from 138 countries, representing continued growth from 3,000 buyers from 111 countries in 2024 and 4,335 buyers from 126 countries in 2025. The event featured 1,647 exhibiting companies (1,628 domestic and 19 international) across 65,000+ square metres of exhibition space at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi from 14th–17th July 2026.
Business outcomes included over 29,000 structured B2B meetings and more than 40 MoUs signed across trade, investment, technology, sustainability and institutional collaboration, including a Letter of Intent between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation and Première Vision Paris. The event added 22 new buyer markets to India's global sourcing network and facilitated the onboarding of over 500 new Indian exporters through participating Export Promotion Councils.
The event featured dedicated initiatives for inclusive participation including Indi Haat for weavers and artisans, special invitations for MSMEs, start-ups, and weavers from Champion and Aspirational Districts, and a dedicated 100 sq. metre exhibition pavilion for the State of Chhattisgarh showcasing traditional textiles and investment opportunities.
Sustainability was a major focus with the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub presented jointly by CMAI and GATS under the theme "Sustainable, Circular and Competitive Bharat." The hub comprised six curated zones: India Impact Wall, Circularity at Scale, From Waste to Global Wardrobe, Made in Circular Bharat, Material & Innovation Library, and Circular Bharat Forum. The Ministry also promoted circularity through the 'Weave the Future' initiative facilitating collaboration among artisans, designers, industry, academic institutions, and innovators.
Knowledge exchange included 41 dedicated sessions on circular economy, sustainable fibres, textile recycling, ESG reporting, traceability, responsible sourcing, decarbonisation, resource efficiency, water stewardship, digital product passports, climate resilience, green finance and emerging global sustainability regulations.
