A high-level delegation from the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM), led by Dr. T.S. Panwar, Member (Technical), conducted a field visit to Punjab's Moga district on October 16, 2026, to review ground-level implementation of stubble burning prevention measures during the ongoing paddy harvesting season. The team held discussions with district officials and undertook field visits to selected hotspot villages in Moga to assess the prevailing situation and review the preparedness of the district administration.
The delegation specifically reviewed measures being undertaken for effective in-situ and ex-situ management of paddy residue, including the availability and deployment of Crop Residue Management (CRM) machinery. They also assessed field-level surveillance and coordination among concerned stakeholders. The CAQM team emphasized the need for continuous monitoring, effective field-level coordination, and timely action to prevent stubble burning incidents during the ongoing harvesting season. This visit is part of CAQM's continued monitoring and review of paddy harvesting season management measures in hotspot districts of Punjab.
