CHEMEXCIL 49th Export Awards Ceremony – Key Details

On Saturday, 3 October 2026, the Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics & Dyes Export Promotion Council (CHEMEXCIL), established by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, convened its 49th Export Awards ceremony at the Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai. The event celebrated the export performance of CHEMEXCIL member‑exporters for the financial years 2021‑22 and 2022‑23, honouring a total of 70 awardees across competitive export categories.

The ceremony was attended by senior government and industry representatives, including S. Satyanarayana, Director of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry; Dr. Satish Wagh, Chairman of CHEMEXCIL; Ankit Patel, Vice Chairman of CHEMEXCIL; and Vishal S. Ganju, Executive Director of CHEMEXCIL, together with members of the Council’s Committee of Administration and prominent exporters.

Three pinnacle honors were presented: the Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on Professor M. M. Sharma, a Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awardee, for his distinguished contributions to the chemical industry; a second Lifetime Achievement Award went to Ajay Kadakia, Chairman of Vivil Exports Pvt. Ltd. The Emerging MSME of the Year award for FY 2022‑23 was granted to Supriya Lifescience Ltd, recognizing its rapid market development, while the Compliance Leader Award was presented to GPC Regulatory India Pvt. Ltd for excellence in regulatory compliance management frameworks.

In his welcome address, CHEMEXCIL Chairman Dr. Satish Wagh congratulated the awardees and highlighted the resilience of Indian exporters amid shifting global trade conditions. He urged the sector to seize opportunities by diversifying supply chains, enhancing innovation, quality, sustainability and value addition. The ceremony concluded with a cultural programme and a vote of thanks delivered by Executive Director Vishal S. Ganju.
