China and the United States agreed in principle to mutually reduce tariffs on a range of goods following a summit in Beijing.
Both sides will set up trade and investment councils to discuss tariff cuts, non‑tariff barriers and market‑access issues, especially for agricultural products.
The agreement also covers U.S. aircraft sales to China and a guarantee to supply aircraft engines and parts.
Talks occurred amid ongoing U.S. export restrictions on AI chips and heightened Taiwan tensions, reflecting broader trade‑war context.
