Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar, laid the foundation stone for the new Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Headquarters building at CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on June 22, 2026. The nine-storey state-of-the-art building, being constructed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) at an estimated cost of ₹75.78 crore, will serve as the nerve center for the Force's administrative, operational, and strategic functions, housing offices of the Director General, various branches, Control Room, conference facilities, auditorium, library, gymnasium, and other advanced amenities.
During the ceremony, the Minister inaugurated three completed infrastructure projects with a total value of ₹60.25 crore: the Subordinate Officers' Mess (Aditya) at the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) in Hyderabad built at ₹34.22 crore; the Advanced Training Building (Abhyas) at NISA, Hyderabad constructed at ₹20.53 crore; and Subordinate Officers' Quarters at the 4th Reserve Battalion in Amravatipuram, Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu built at ₹5.50 crore. The total value of infrastructure projects dedicated was ₹136.03 crore.
The event was attended by Union Home Secretary Shri Govind Mohan, Director Intelligence Bureau Shri Tapan Kumar Deka, Director General CISF Shri Praveer Ranjan, senior officers of Central Armed Police Forces, CPWD and SBI officials, and former Directors General of CISF. Financial assistance of ₹1 crore under the Personal Accident Insurance Scheme was handed over to families of deceased CISF personnel, and customized motorable wheelchairs were presented to differently-abled dependent children of Force personnel through a joint initiative of Sanrakshika and State Bank of India.
Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar reiterated the government's commitment to CAPF welfare, highlighting initiatives including cashless healthcare through Ayushman CAPF and CAPFIMS, transparent housing allotment via CAPF e-Awas portal, and a compassionate disability policy ensuring personnel disabled in duty continue serving with dignity and full benefits. He also appreciated Project MANN for mental health support and financial relief measures through Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar network.
Director General CISF Shri Praveer Ranjan highlighted the Force's expansion into emerging security domains, noting CISF has been designated as a Recognized Security Organisation (RSO) under the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, enabling security audits and assessments of major ports to secure India's Blue Economy. The Force has also assumed security responsibilities at high-security correctional facilities in Jammu & Kashmir and is expanding its internal security management role.
Emphasizing technology-led security solutions, DG Ranjan informed that RTC Behror is being developed as a Centre of Excellence for Drone and Anti-Drone Technology, with CISF designated as nodal agency for protection of critical infrastructure against rogue drone threats. Specialized cyber security teams are being trained in collaboration with IIT Madras Pravartak, National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) Gandhinagar, and C-DAC. The Ministry has approved raising the first all-women CISF Reserve Battalion at Nuh, Haryana comprising 1,024 personnel.
