CMPDI and MSME Development Office Joint Vendor Development Programme
Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a Mini-Ratna subsidiary of Coal India Limited, and MSME-Development Office, Ranchi under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India successfully concluded a two-day Vendor Development Programme-cum-Product Exhibition 2026 held in Ranchi on September 9th and 10th, 2026. The event was organized under the Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2026 to promote transparency and fairness in government procurement processes.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri Chaudhari Shivraj Singh, CMD of CMPDI, along with Chief Guest Shri Nilendu Kumar Singh, CMD of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). Shri Singh emphasized that the programme serves as a platform for fostering long-term partnerships between corporates and MSMEs rather than merely being a buyer-seller meet. He highlighted MSMEs' significant role in promoting indigenisation, innovation, and specialized solutions, noting that aligning their expertise with corporate requirements could create new growth avenues towards Viksit Bharat. CMD CCL assured micro and small enterprises of all possible support in building an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Technical Sessions and Participant Engagement
During the technical sessions, senior officials from multiple public sector undertakings provided detailed information about their procurement processes. Participating organizations included CMPDI, CCL, BSL/SAIL Bokaro, Hindustan Copper Limited, South Eastern Railway, GAIL, NTPC Mining Limited, GeM, UCIL, SIDBI, and MECON Limited. They detailed vendor registration processes on Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and explained the Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS). Representatives from NSSH/NSIC Ranchi and MSME Development Office elaborated on various Central and State Government schemes for general, women, and SC/ST MSME entrepreneurs.
The event featured exhibition stalls from five public sector/government organizations and fifteen micro and small enterprise units. More than 200 MSME entrepreneurs participated in the technical sessions and engaged directly with officials during question-and-answer sessions to clarify their queries. Director (T/CRD) of CMPDI specifically encouraged women entrepreneurs to actively participate and leverage these opportunities for business growth.
