The Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) have completed Special Campaign 6.0, a nationwide cleanliness and office-space improvement initiative conducted across approximately 8,000 sites throughout their establishments. The campaign involved comprehensive activities including record management, digitization, plantation, environment-friendly practices, citizen-centric practices, scrap disposal, electronic waste management, and enhancement of office spaces.
During the campaign, more than 13,000 physical and electronic files were weeded out, generating revenue exceeding ₹14 lakh through disposal activities. The initiative also freed over 4,000 square feet of space across various facilities. Officials across institute campuses conducted awareness camps to sensitize people about cleanliness importance and organized free medical camps at several locations, while continuing the practice of felicitating Safai Mitras.
Participation occurred at all organizational levels, with cleanliness activities conducted both inside office premises and in surrounding campus areas. Extensive cleaning drives were carried out in farms, fields, and roads surrounding the campuses, with particular attention given to separating metal and plastic waste from general waste to improve cleanliness standards. The campaign promoted responsible waste management and workplace cleanliness, with achievements exceeding the targets set for the initiative.
