The Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), along with its attached and subordinate organizations including the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs), and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), officially commenced Special Campaign 6 on October 2, 2026, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti. This month-long nationwide initiative runs through October 31, 2026, following a preparatory phase from September 15-30, 2026, during which baseline targets, site identifications, and record inventories were completed.
The campaign features four key metric areas: 12,208 cleanliness and outstation office drives scheduled across organizational units; pendency and grievance redressal targeting 4 MP references, 2 Parliamentary Assurances, 1 Inter-Ministerial Cabinet proposal, 58 State Government references, 2 PMO references, 72 Public Grievances (CPGRAMS), 18 Public Grievance Appeals, and 20 Easing of Rules/Process items; record management involving review of 2,716 physical files and 20 e-files to optimize workspace; and scientific e-waste management targeting disposal of 1,011 units of obsolete equipment through MoEFCC-empanelled recyclers.
The e-waste disposal breakdown includes 602 units of IT & telecommunication equipment, 196 consumer electrical/electronic & photovoltaic units, 53 large/small electrical appliances, 5 laboratory instruments, and 154 other electronic assets and electrical tools. The campaign focuses on scientific e-waste management with safe segregation and disposal compliant with E-Waste Management Rules, pendency liquidation through swift closure of public grievances and official references, and space optimization by promoting clean, clutter-free working environments. Daily progress updates and best practices will be shared via the national SCDPM portal throughout the implementation phase.
