The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), is hosting the 9th edition of India Medical Device 2026 on August 7-8, 2026 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The flagship conference is themed "Towards Viksit Bharat: Advancing India as a Global Hub for Quality Medical Devices" and aims to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, healthcare professionals, innovators, researchers, investors, and other stakeholders to deliberate on the future of India's rapidly expanding medical devices sector.
Smt Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilisers, Government of India will inaugurate the conference on August 7th, 2026. Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda will deliver the keynote address on "Atmanirbhar MedTech: Accelerating India's Journey towards Viksit Bharat" on August 8th, 2026. The event will also be attended by Shri Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals; Smt. Punya Salila Srivastava, Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare; Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI); Dr. M. Srinivas, Member (Health), NITI Aayog; along with senior government officials, industry experts, CEOs of leading medical device companies, start-ups, academia, and healthcare institutions.
The two-day conference will feature comprehensive sessions addressing key priorities in the MedTech sector. Session 1 will focus on "Medical Device Component Manufacturing in India: Promoting Atmanirbharta through Localization," while a parallel workshop will deliberate on the efficient utilisation of existing testing laboratory infrastructure for the medical device industry. Session 2 will examine "Building Technology Leadership in High-Impact and High-Volume Medical Devices," alongside a parallel session on "Use of AI in Healthcare and Emergence of India as a SaMD Powerhouse." Session 3 will deliberate on "Strengthening Clinical Evidence for Quality Medical Devices: Regulatory Pathways and Data Generation," with a parallel discussion on "Transforming India's Medical Device Sector into an Export Powerhouse." The first day will conclude with a roundtable on "Strengthening Service & Maintenance Ecosystem for Medical Equipment in India." On the second day, the conference will feature a Session on "Atmanirbhar MedTech: Accelerating India's Journey towards Viksit Bharat," followed by an exclusive CEO Roundtable with the Union Minister of Chemicals & Fertilisers and Session 4 on "Reimbursement Mechanisms for Innovative Therapies in India's Path to Universal Health Coverage (UHC)."
