The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), will host the 9th edition of India Medical Device 2026 on August 7-8, 2026, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The conference theme is 'Towards Viksit Bharat: Advancing India as a Global Hub for Quality Medical Devices', aiming to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, healthcare professionals, innovators, researchers, investors, and other stakeholders to deliberate on the future of India's rapidly expanding medical devices sector.
Smt Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilisers, will inaugurate the conference on August 7, 2026. Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, will deliver the keynote address on 'Atmanirbhar MedTech: Accelerating India's Journey towards Viksit Bharat' on August 8, 2026. Other dignitaries include Shri Manoj Joshi, Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals; Smt. Punya Salila Srivastava, Secretary of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare; Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI); Dr. M. Srinivas, Member (Health) of NITI Aayog; and senior government officials.
Ahead of the conference, Shri Manoj Joshi stated that the event will provide a platform to showcase India's growing MedTech capabilities, strengthen global partnerships, foster innovation and quality manufacturing, and chart the roadmap for positioning India as a trusted global hub for quality medical devices. Shri Tushar Sharma, Chair of FICCI Medical Devices Committee and Managing Director & GM of Abbott Healthcare, emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between policymakers, industry, academia, and healthcare experts to drive meaningful dialogue and accelerate the growth of India's medical devices ecosystem.
The two-day conference will feature high-level plenary sessions and thematic discussions, including Session 1 on 'Medical Device Component Manufacturing in India: Promoting Atmanirbharta through Localization', a parallel workshop on efficient utilization of testing laboratory infrastructure, Session 2 on 'Building Technology Leadership in High-Impact and High-Volume Medical Devices', a parallel session on 'Use of AI in Healthcare and Emergence of India as a SaMD Powerhouse', Session 3 on 'Strengthening Clinical Evidence for Quality Medical Devices: Regulatory Pathways and Data Generation', a parallel discussion on 'Transforming India's Medical Device Sector into an Export Powerhouse', a roundtable on 'Strengthening Service & Maintenance Ecosystem for Medical Equipment in India', and on the second day, a session on 'Atmanirbhar MedTech: Accelerating India's Journey towards Viksit Bharat', an exclusive CEO Roundtable with the Union Minister, and Session 4 on 'Reimbursement Mechanisms for Innovative Therapies in India's Path to Universal Health Coverage (UHC)'.
