The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, along with its affiliated organizations, will conduct Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2026, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. The campaign aims to institutionalize Swachhata culture and streamline government functioning through systematic pendency elimination.
Campaign Structure and Timeline
The campaign is structured in two distinct phases: a preparatory phase from September 15-30, 2026, involving identification of target sites, pendency auditing, and e-waste mapping; followed by an implementation phase from October 2-31, 2026, executing cleanliness drives, scrap disposal, and grievance resolution activities.
Participating Organizations
The initiative involves multiple entities under the pharmaceutical department including the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), seven National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs), Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), and three Public Sector Undertakings: Bengal Chemical & Pharmaceutical Ltd. (BCPL), Hindustan Antibiotics Limited (HAL), and Karnataka Antibiotics And Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (KAPL).
Key Focus Areas
The campaign focuses on three primary areas: e-waste management requiring safe collection, segregation, and disposal of electronic scrap in accordance with E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022; grievance and reference resolution targeting accelerated disposal of pending MP References, State Government Communications, PMO References, Parliamentary Assurances, Public Grievances, and CPGRAMS Appeals; and field office outreach involving active participation from field offices, PSUs and NIPERs to conduct outdoor cleanliness drives, office beautification, and sustainability initiatives.
Through these measures, the Department reaffirms its commitment to transparent governance, efficient public service delivery, and sustainable office management practices.
