The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, participated in the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign organized jointly by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation from September 17 to October 2, 2026. As part of the "Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath" initiative, the Department organized a one-hour voluntary Shramdaan (cleanliness drive) near Shastri Bhawan, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Marg, New Delhi on October 1, 2026. Secretary Shri Manoj Joshi led the initiative by administering the Swachhata pledge to senior officers and staff, who participated enthusiastically in cleaning and clearing the public place.

The campaign operated under the theme "Swachhata Mein Sahbhag – Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat" with the objective of promoting cleanliness through public participation and collective responsibility. Secretary Joshi planted a mango sapling as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign and participated in a Signature Drive to encourage greater awareness and participation toward cleanliness. The Department reiterated its commitment to the objectives of Swachh Bharat and emphasized the close linkage between cleanliness, public health, and healthy living, highlighting that sustained awareness, responsible waste management, and active citizen participation are essential for creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable public spaces.
