The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) has initiated preparations for Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters 6 (SCDPM 6), running from October 2 to October 31, 2026, with a preparatory phase from September 15 to September 30, 2026. The campaign involves DFPD's subordinate/attached offices and PSUs including Food Corporation of India (FCI), Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), and Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA).
Key targets identified as of September 28, 2026 include 947 sites marked for intensive cleanliness drives at offices, depots, and warehouses, with 22,635 square feet of space targeted to be freed up through disposal of clutter and obsolete materials. The campaign aims to review and weed out 3,660 physical files according to record retention rules and close 3,534 e-files to strengthen digital record management. Additionally, 439 e-waste items have been identified for collection, segregation, and disposal to promote responsible waste management practices.
The Department is conducting regular review meetings with nodal officers and senior officials to monitor progress, focusing on cleanliness drives, disposal of pending matters, space optimization, record management, and e-waste disposal. The initiative aims to create cleaner and better-organized workplaces, reduce pendency, and ensure responsible e-waste management across all DFPD operations.
