Award Announcement
Dr. Amit Singh, Lead Cardiology Consultant at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH) in Koperkhairane and founder of Heartwise Cardiology Clinic in Vashi, was named "Cardiologist of the Year" at the ET Healthcare Annual Awards presented by ETHealthworld in New Delhi. This accolade follows his earlier recognition as "Emerging Interventional Cardiologist of the Year" at the National Cardiovascular Summit in 2025.
Professional Credentials
Dr. Singh holds an MD in Medicine and a DM in Cardiology from K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai, and previously served as Assistant Professor at the same institution. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the first Indian cardiologist to hold simultaneous triple certification from the European Society of Cardiology: general cardiology (EECC), interventional cardiology (EAPCI), and heart failure (ESC‑HFA, lifetime).
Clinical Innovations
He pioneered the adoption of advanced calcium‑modification techniques in Navi Mumbai, being among the first to use Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) and Orbital Atherectomy. These technologies have enabled a success rate exceeding 99% in complex coronary angioplasties. Dr. Singh also routinely performs structural heart interventions such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR/TAVI), MitraClip, atrial septal defect (ASD) device closures, and left atrial appendage (LAA) closures.
Service Expansion
Dr. Singh provides 24/7 cardiac emergency access across the industrial and residential belts of Navi Mumbai and Thane district, including Vashi, Koparkhairne, Ghansoli, Airoli, the 2,000‑unit Turbhe MIDC industrial zone, and major IT parks. To extend equitable access beyond the city centre, he established a cardiac emergency hub at the Kokilaben Hospital Medical Centre in Palava, serving tens of thousands of families in Palava, Dombivli, Ambernath, and Badlapur.
"Healthy Heart" Initiative
Through the subsidized "Healthy Heart" screening package, priced at ₹1,500 (versus the standard ₹10,000), Dr. Singh’s program has screened over 5,000 individuals over the past two years. Approximately 100 critical cardiac conditions have been detected, preventing numerous potentially fatal events. The initiative also includes a dedicated heart disease prevention programme at his flagship clinic in Vashi.
