Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a high-level review meeting on June 18, 2026, to assess preparedness for the NEET UG re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026. The meeting was attended by 222 participants in hybrid mode, including senior officials from the Ministry of Education, State Governments, National Testing Agency (NTA), and Higher Education Institutions.

Minister Pradhan emphasized maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and efficiency in the examination process, directing all authorities to remain vigilant and fully prepared. He instructed that officers designated by the Ministry will reach all states to coordinate re-examination activities and report to the Command Centre headed by the Director General of NTA. State nodal officers were directed to ensure students are provided all necessary facilities for a stress-free examination environment.

Secretary of School Education and Literacy Shri Sanjay Kumar emphasized putting students at ease with necessary facilities including seating arrangements before the exam and drinking water. Secretary of Higher Education Shri Vineet Joshi stressed the need for proactive coordination, timely dissemination of instructions, and strict compliance with all prescribed protocols during the crucial period leading to the re-examination.

NTA Director General Shri Abhishek Singh stated that the agency is working with all stakeholders including district-level coordination committees headed by District Magistrates, state police departments, and intelligence agencies to ensure smooth conduct of the re-examination. Detailed deliberations covered examination preparedness, coordination mechanisms, security protocols, logistical arrangements, grievance redressal mechanisms, and adherence to examination guidelines. States and Union Territories were advised to maintain close coordination with all stakeholders to ensure transparent and seamless conduct of the re-examination.
