The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made an early disbursement of pension payments for the month of August 2026 to beneficiaries in Kerala. On 26 August 2026, the organisation credited pension to 4,40,901 pensioners under the Keralam Zone, ahead of the festival of Onam. This early payment was a special arrangement made in view of the upcoming Onam celebrations, deviating from the ordinary practice of disbursing monthly pension under the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), 1995 at the end of the month. The early disbursement was intended to enable pensioners and their families to meet financial requirements and celebrate the festival without inconvenience. The pension was credited through EPFO’s Centralized Pension Payment System (CPPS), which facilitates seamless and efficient direct transfer of pension to beneficiaries' bank accounts across the country. EPFO stated its commitment to ensuring timely delivery of social security benefits and continuous improvement of pension services through technology-enabled initiatives and citizen-centric reforms.
