EU Commission is exploring joining the US‑led "Pax Silica" alliance to secure semiconductor, AI and critical mineral supply chains.
Sweden and Finland have already signed up independently, while France remains the main holdout among major EU members.
The alliance aims to build a trusted network for AI infrastructure, data centers and reduce Western reliance on Chinese exports.
EU plans to send a senior official to the US in the coming weeks to advance talks and define partnership terms.
