European energy shares plunged, with BP down ~8%, Shell ~6.5%, TotalEnergies ~5.4%, Eni ~7.2%, Maurel et Prom falling up to 18.7%.
Brent crude fell 13% to $94.80, touching $91.70 intraday low, while WTI dropped nearly 15% to $96.21.
Major European indices rose, FTSE 100 +2.7%, DAX +5%, CAC 40 +3.4%, Stoxx 600 +3.6%; US S&P 500 futures up 2.6% to 6,828.5.
The rally followed a ceasefire announced by President Donald Trump, suspending attacks for two weeks pending Iran’s reopening of Strait of Hormuz.
