Frankfurt Airport Traffic Up 2.1% March

Frankfurt Airport handled 4.7 million passengers in March 2026, up 2.1% YoY despite two strike days and geopolitical tensions.
Lufthansa strikes affected about 100,000 passengers, while Iran‑war cut Middle‑East traffic 68.6%, offset by 22%‑plus growth on African and Far‑East routes.
Cargo volumes rose 0.4% to 185,486 t, aircraft movements fell 1.1% to 34,892, and total Fraport‑managed passenger traffic hit 10.3 million (+5.1% YoY).
First‑quarter 2026 traffic rose 5.2% to 28.6 million passengers, with international airports in Brazil, Greece, Turkey and others posting double‑digit gains.
