Overview
Gastech 2026, described as the world’s largest exhibition and conference for natural gas, LNG, low‑carbon solutions, hydrogen, shipping, AI for energy and electrification, will take place in Bangkok from 14‑17 September 2026 at BITEC Bangkok. The event is hosted by Thailand’s Ministry of Energy and is positioned as a platform for governments, industry and investors to address the secure, affordable and sustainable energy required for Asia’s accelerating economic transformation.
Macro Context
Asia is projected to drive the next chapter of global growth, with emerging and developing economies accounting for more than 80% of global energy‑demand growth in 2024 and developing economies across Asia contributing roughly 60% of that increase. Electricity demand rose 4.3% in 2024, while global data‑centre electricity consumption is expected to more than double by 2030. Global energy investment reached an estimated US$3.3 trillion in 2025, underscoring the scale of capital needed to support this expansion.
Event Scale and Participation
The conference will feature over 800 speakers across 200 conference sessions and 18 specialised programmes, and will host more than 800 exhibiting companies. Organisers anticipate more than 50,000 attendees from over 150 countries. The exhibition is anchored by co‑hosts Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell, and supported by Thailand’s National Consortium Partners EGAT, PTT and Gulf, with additional support from National Consortium Supporters RATCH and EGCO.

A dedicated Japan Energy Programme will assess Japan’s evolving LNG strategy, changing power demand and energy‑security priorities. The co‑located AixEnergy event will focus on the growing relationship between AI and energy, covering data‑centre power needs and AI‑driven efficiency gains.
Value‑Chain Participation
Producers and energy companies such as ADNOC, XRG, Cheniere, Venture Global and Woodside Energy will meet buyers and utilities including KOGAS, GAIL, SEFE, Uniper and ENGIE. Infrastructure and engineering providers Bechtel, Technip Energies and Samsung Heavy Industries will be joined by technology firms Baker Hughes, Siemens Energy and Honeywell, alongside trading houses Vitol and Trafigura.
