Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), a Central University under the Ministry of Railways, held its Fourth Convocation on 17 July 2026 with Hon. Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu as Chief Guest. The ceremony awarded degrees to 121 students across B.Tech. and MBA programs, including the first-ever MBA degree in Metro Rail Management. The university conferred its inaugural honorary Ph.D. degree on E. Sreedharan (popularly known as the Metro Man of India and Former MD of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.) for his outstanding contributions to India's transportation and infrastructure sector.

Gold Medals for academic excellence were awarded to Vivek Yadav, Sandeep Patel, Abhinandan Gupta, Rishav Tripathi and Suresh Sengundarmudliyar across various branches of study. Durgesh Kumar and Sandeep Patel received the Outstanding Project award 2026, while Vivek Kumar was honored as the Best Graduating Student of 2026.

In his convocation address, Minister Naidu emphasized the 'Three Ms' - Movement, Momentum, and Mission - as essential for Viksit Bharat. He highlighted India's progress in transportation and aviation sectors, particularly PM Gati Shakti, and emphasized the role of the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) sector in creating opportunities for youth. The minister praised the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering curriculum developed within 4 months of DGCA's partnership with GSV and extended the Ministry of Civil Aviation's full support to the university.

E. Sreedharan, as Guest of Honour, emphasized the importance of continuous learning and values including punctuality, integrity, and professional competency. Other distinguished guests including Dr. Hemang Joshi (MP, Vadodara), Her Highness Shubhanginiraje Gaekwad, and Sukaran Singh (CEO & MD, Tata Advanced Systems Limited) addressed the graduates, emphasizing values, sustainable development, and innovation.

GSV, established through an Act of Parliament on 06 December 2022 and headed by Chancellor Ashwini Vaishnaw (Union Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics & Information Technology), offers programs in Rail Engineering, Aviation Engineering & Operations, Maritime Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and other transportation infrastructure domains. The university serves as the central nodal agency for capacity building and training for the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, having trained more than 2.4 lakh officers through its curated courses. GSV follows the National Education Policy 2020 with an industry-driven and innovation-led approach, maintaining collaborations with leading institutions and industries worldwide.
