Announcement Overview

The Global Fintech Awards (GFA) 2026 results were unveiled at a gala on 9 September 2026 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai. The awards, part of the Global Fintech Fest, are organized by the Payments Council of India (PCI) and the Fintech Convergence Council (FCC) and are presented in partnership with VISA.

Theme and Scope

The 2026 theme, “Potential to Impact – Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance,” underscores the industry’s focus on building intelligent, connected, secure and inclusive financial systems. The ceremony highlighted emerging transformation areas such as Agentic AI, Tokenisation and Quantum, as identified by the Global Fintech Fest.

Award Structure

A total of 26 award categories were evaluated, covering banking technology, fintech, artificial intelligence, digital trust and identity, payments, lending, insurance, wealth management, cybersecurity and regional innovation. Entries were judged by a jury of 41 industry leaders together with a Special Jury comprising senior leaders from the broader financial services and fintech ecosystem.

Principal Winners

  • Lalit Keshre, Co‑Founder and CEO of Groww, was named Fintech Person of the Year – Male.
  • Jasleen Kohli, Managing Director and CEO of Go Digit General Insurance, received Fintech Person of the Year – Female.
  • The startup Dhan was honoured as Fintech Startup of the Year.

AI‑Powered Financial Innovation Awards

The category “Excellence in AI‑Powered Financial Innovation” recognised five companies:

  • PhonePe for the Best Use of AI in Payments;
  • Falcon for the Best Use of AI in Banking;
  • Signzy Technologies for the Best Use of AI in Lending;
  • ScienceSoft for the Best Use of AI in Insurance;
  • 360 ONE for the Best Use of AI in Asset / Wealth Management.
