Vice President Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan launched 'Gnani Artha', a sovereign AI stack developed by GNANI AI, at Uprashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on August 28, 2026. The AI stack comprises two main components: Evon 3.3, which is a large language model, and Plexus, a platform that connects AI intelligence with real-world work and institutions.
The Vice President emphasized that this launch reflects the growing strength of India's technology ecosystem and demonstrates that Indian engineers can build frontier technologies rather than just consume them. He highlighted that AI will open new avenues of employment and growth, drawing parallels with how the IT sector created numerous employment opportunities despite initial concerns about job displacement.
Significant government initiatives supporting India's AI transformation were mentioned, including the IndiaAI Mission and Centres of Excellence for AI. The Vice President credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's political will and 'India First' approach for driving technological self-reliance. Specific parliamentary applications of AI were noted, including the Digital Sansad portal that enables access to parliamentary debates and papers in multiple Indian languages, with simultaneous AI-based interpretation already implemented in eight languages and planned extension to all Scheduled Languages.
The address emphasized the importance of developing sovereign AI capabilities to strengthen India's technological and strategic autonomy, with references to semiconductor manufacturing as another area where India is gaining renewed momentum. The initiative was positioned as part of India's broader journey toward technological self-reliance, innovation, and global leadership in line with the Viksit Bharat @ 2047 vision. GNANI AI CEO Shri Ganesh Gopalan and Co-Founder and CTO Shri Ananth Nagaraj were specifically acknowledged for their contribution to this national effort.
