Government Sanctions Rs 2.83 Lakh Crore for Power Distribution Reforms

The scheme targets reducing AT&C losses to 12-15% and has sanctioned smart metering for 20.33 crore connections, with 4.69 crore installed under RDSS.
National AT&C losses improved from 21.91% (FY21) to 15.04% (FY25), with billing and collection efficiency rising to 87.59% and 97% respectively.
Implementation is monitored by PFC and REC, with fund release linked to performance on operational and financial parameters.
