GSI concluded its 2025-26 field season with 458 mineral exploration projects, including 230 focused on critical minerals and 92 on rare earth elements.
The survey handed over 80 geological reports for auction, including 39 for critical minerals, and discovered natural hydrogen in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
For the 2026-27 field season, GSI plans 500 exploration projects, with 300 targeting critical minerals, a 30% increase from the previous year.
