Announcement

GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited (GSK India), a subsidiary of GSK plc, announced that it has secured a Guinness World Records™ title for the “Largest Brochure Mosaic‑Image.”

Record Details

The record‑setting mosaic was assembled at GSK House, the company’s official headquarters in Mumbai, and covers more than 115 square metres. Over 5,000 healthcare professionals (HCPs) from across India contributed pledge‑card brochures, which were combined to create the visual structure.

Purpose and Health Context

The initiative was launched on World Heart Day to advance awareness of adult immunisation as a key component of preventive healthcare, particularly for adults with underlying cardiovascular conditions. GSK positions adult vaccination as a potential fourth pillar of cardiovascular disease management, alongside lifestyle modification, risk‑factor monitoring, and guideline‑directed medical therapy.

According to the Journal of the Association of Physicians of India (JAPI), adult immunisation coverage in India remains below 2%, especially among older adults and immunocompromised individuals. India has more than 75 million older adults living with chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, underscoring the urgency of proactive preventive conversations. The campaign also highlights the increased risk of shingles and its complications in older adults with cardiovascular disease; shingles prevention is recommended for patients aged 50 years and above.

Statements

Dr Shalini Menon, Executive Vice President – Medical Affairs, GSK India, said, “India is living longer but not necessarily healthier. With more than 75 million older adults in India living with chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, the time for proactive conversations on prevention is now. This Guinness World Records™ title is not just a recognition of scale, but a reflection of the collective commitment of India's healthcare community towards advancing preventive healthcare and fostering greater understanding of the role that adult immunisation can play within comprehensive patient care.”

Additional Information

The press release notes that GSK India has recently strengthened its focus on adult immunisation, establishing adult vaccination clinics and encouraging in‑clinic conversations with HCPs. The mosaic transforms thousands of individual commitments into a powerful visual demonstration of collective action.
