The Sarang Helicopter Display Team of the Indian Air Force has arrived in Egypt to participate in the 2nd edition of the El Alamein International Airshow, scheduled from September 8 to 10, 2026, at El Alamein International Airport. This marks a significant milestone in the Indian Air Force's international engagements, reflecting the growing defense and diplomatic ties between India and Egypt.
The Sarang team, recognized as the world's only five-helicopter display team, will showcase precision, professionalism, and flying skills through meticulously choreographed displays. The team operates the indigenously designed and manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, and is renowned for demanding formation maneuvers, close-proximity flying, and synchronized aerial sequences. Their performance will include the famous "Dolphin Leap" maneuver and a new maneuver called the "Spot Stall Turn."
The participation provides an opportunity for global spectators and aviation enthusiasts to witness the versatility and agility of the ALH Dhruv helicopter while demonstrating the bold spirit of the Indian Air Force. The El Alamein International Airshow brings together leading air forces and professionals from the aerospace, defense, and space sectors worldwide, with the Sarang display adding a distinctive dimension to the event and strengthening ties with other international teams.
