The ICAR–Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (ICAR-IIOR), Hyderabad will host a National Consultation and Industry Interface Meet on September 10, 2026, at its Hyderabad facility. The event focuses on accelerating the commercialization of oilseed technologies under the theme "Innovations in Varieties/Hybrids, Biologicals and Biopolymer-Enabled Multilayer Seed Coating Technologies for Sustainable Agriculture: Industry Partnerships for Technology Commercialization and Scaling."
India's position as one of the world's major vegetable oil economies drives this initiative, with increasing demand for edible oils and the need to accelerate domestic oilseed production necessitating accelerated technology development and adoption to strengthen self-reliance. ICAR-IIOR has developed several promising technologies including improved oilseed varieties and hybrids, biopolymer-enabled seed enhancement technologies, and microbial biopesticide formulations.
The meet will bring together representatives from the seed industry, biopesticide and bio-input companies, technology licensees, agri-business firms, start-ups, and entrepreneurs. ICAR-IIOR will showcase its technologies and explore opportunities for technology transfer, licensing, public-private partnerships, and large-scale deployment. The initiative is expected to strengthen research-industry linkages and stakeholder collaboration, facilitating the validation, commercialization, and adoption of innovative technologies for the benefit of farmers and the sustainable growth of India's oilseed sector.
