ICAR Reviews Domain-Specific Course Development for iGOT Karmayogi Platform
The Agricultural Education Division of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) organized an online review meeting on October 7, 2026, to assess the development and digitization of domain-specific courses for the iGOT Karmayogi platform. The meeting was chaired by Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Director General of ICAR.
Dr. Jat directed all ICAR Institutes to develop and upload high-quality domain-specific courses after undertaking proper internal review and ensuring adherence to prescribed guidelines. He emphasized the importance of completing assigned work within stipulated timelines and strengthening regular learning through the iGOT Karmayogi platform. Specifically, Dr. Jat mandated that all ICAR employees undertake at least two hours of learning regularly on the platform and called upon institutes to ensure active participation and timely completion of both learning hours and course-uploading targets.
Dr. Yashpal Singh Malik, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education) of ICAR, highlighted the need for timely action by all ICAR Institutes to strengthen ICAR's performance under Mission Karmayogi. He stressed the importance of active participation from all institutes in improving ICAR's national-level ranking under the Mission Karmayogi framework.
Mr. Ashwin, an expert from Karmayogi Bharat, provided technical guidance during the meeting, briefing participants on the process of content development and digitization of courses. He shared information about empanelled agencies available for course development and provided technical inputs to facilitate the creation and uploading of quality domain-specific learning content.
The meeting concluded with clear directions for expediting course development and digitization, ensuring quality through internal review mechanisms, and completing both assigned learning hours and course uploads within stipulated timelines. Active participation of all ICAR Institutes was emphasized as crucial for strengthening capacity building and learning under Mission Karmayogi.
