India Accelerates PNG, 4.40 Lakh Connections Gasified

Government of India, via MoPNG, launched a structured PNG expansion policy, extending National PNG Drive 2.0 to June 30, 2026.
Since March 2026, 4.40 lakh (440,000) households have been gasified, with 4.88 lakh (488,000) new connection registrations pending.
The Natural Gas and Petroleum Products Distribution Order, 2026, enables time‑bound City Gas Distribution infrastructure development across authorized areas.
States and UTs are tasked with faster approvals, local coordination, and monitoring essential fuel supplies to support last‑mile PNG connectivity.
