Government approved 10 semiconductor manufacturing projects with total investment commitments of ₹1.6 lakh crore under Semicon India Programme.
Commercial production has commenced at two plants (Micron and Kaynes) with two more plants starting production this year.
Electronics goods production increased 6x to ~₹12 lakh crore and exports increased 8x to ~₹3.3 lakh crore from 2014-15 to 2024-25.
Mobile phone production increased 28x to ₹5.45 lakh crore and exports increased 127x to ₹2 lakh crore during the same period.
