The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), is organizing the 14th edition of India Chem 2026 from October 22 to 24, 2026, at Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO, Mumbai. Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers & Health and Family Welfare Shri JP Nadda will inaugurate the event, with Union Minister of State Shrimati Anupriya Patel also attending, along with Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha, and senior officers from Central and State Governments.

The event, under the theme "Advantage Bharat: An Emerging Global Chemicals Hub," serves as a flagship biennial platform bringing together policymakers, global industry leaders, investors, technology providers, researchers, and stakeholders to explore collaboration, trade, and investment opportunities. India holds the position as the sixth-largest producer of chemicals globally and fourth-largest in Asia, with the industry projected to reach USD 300 billion by 2030 and USD 1 trillion by 2040, supported by rising demand, export opportunities, demographic dividend, low per capita consumption, and government initiatives.

International participation is expected from over 100 countries including Japan (as partner country), United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union nations, Latin America, Vietnam, Korea, and ASEAN countries. The event will feature more than 200 Indian and international exhibitors, over 8,000 business visitors, and more than 50 leading CEOs at the Global CEOs Forum. Buyer delegations from South America, United States, European Union, CIS countries, West Europe, Middle East, and South/Southeast Asia are anticipated. States with Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Regions (PCPIRs) and chemical hubs—including Gujarat, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra—will showcase their capabilities and investment opportunities.

The exhibition covers three main segments: chemicals (featuring fine and specialty chemicals, agrochemicals and fertilizers, basic chemicals, dyes and pigments, green and sustainable chemicals, pharmaceutical ingredients, water-treatment chemicals, construction chemicals, and industrial R&D), petrochemicals (showcasing polymers and engineering plastics, olefins, synthetic fibres, elastomers, aromatics and derivatives, bio-based and recycled petrochemicals, performance plastics, composite materials, and specialty polymers for automotive, aerospace, and electronics sectors), and process plant machinery and equipment (highlighting advanced machinery, process technologies, engineering services, digitalization, automation, smart manufacturing, environmental and pollution-control systems, filtration technologies, laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, robotics, and AI-driven solutions).

The event aims to open avenues for technology transfer, joint ventures, contract research and manufacturing, custom synthesis, investment in PCPIRs and chemical parks, and global sourcing from India. It will facilitate partnerships in specialty materials including nanomaterials, semiconductors, composites, and biodegradable polymers, as well as green technologies, bio-based chemicals, recycling and circular economy, ESG solutions, safety and compliance, start-up incubation, skill development, supply-chain services, and digital B2B platforms.

Building on the previous India Chem 2024 edition which recorded participation from 72 countries, 172 exhibitors, 78 global CEOs, 135 speakers, 689 foreign delegates, 1,115 Indian delegates, and 8,720 business visitors with total footfall exceeding 15,000, the 14th edition seeks to deepen international engagement and highlight India's growing global role supported by governance reforms, world-class infrastructure, trade policies, regulatory framework, and skilled labor availability.
