The Prime Minister's Office released a list of 13 outcomes from the Prime Minister's visit to France, covering technology, trade, and strategic cooperation. The agreements include the adoption of the India-France Innovation Roadmap 2030 to guide bilateral technology and innovation cooperation, and the creation of a Joint India-France AI Working Group specifically focused on AI governance frameworks.
In the economic domain, the nations announced expanded possibilities for using India's real-time payment system, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), in France, which could facilitate cross-border digital payments. Additionally, 10 Indian startups will be incubated at Station F, a major startup campus in Paris. A high-level mechanism was established with the explicit goal of doubling bilateral trade between India and France within the next five years, building upon the existing Economic and Financial Dialogue. A new Economic Security Dialogue was also instituted to address strategic economic concerns.
Several institutional partnerships were formed, including a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a National Centre of Excellence for Skilling in Aeronautics and Allied Sectors at the NSTI in Kanpur. A Centre of Digital Sciences will be established through cooperation between India's Department of Science and Technology (DST) and France's Institut National de Recherche en Sciences et Technologies du Numérique (INRIA). An ICCR India Chair on 'AI, Innovation and Culture' was established at Universite Paris-Saclay, and a Letter of Intent was signed between the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Health Data Hub of France for health data cooperation.
Strategic agreements include a Declaration of Intent on Cooperation on Railway and High-speed Railway Development in India, a General Security Agreement on the Exchange and Protection of Classified Information, and a Letter of Intent between the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and France's CNES (Centre national d'études spatiales) concerning cooperation in the field of microgravity research and human space exploration.
