The festival focuses on three foundational technologies: Agentic AI, which enables financial systems to sense, decide, and act in real-time within governance frameworks; Tokenisation, which transforms assets into programmable digital units enabling fractional ownership and instant settlement; and Quantum technologies, which introduce foundational shifts in computation and security for financial infrastructure.

India's Fintech Achievements and Metrics

India's fintech transformation is built on Digital Public Infrastructure including Aadhaar, UPI, and the JAM Trinity. UPI, recognized by the IMF as the world's largest real-time payment system, processed 2,365.8 crore transactions worth ₹29.88 lakh crore in July 2026 alone, with 741 banks live on the platform. Transaction volumes have grown nearly 12,000-fold since FY 2016–17. The platform handles nearly 50% of global real-time digital transaction volume and operates in 11 countries. In August 2026, UPI transactions reached 24,509 million.

Financial inclusion has significantly improved, with India's Financial Inclusion Index increasing from 43.4 in March 2017 to 70.0 in March 2026. The JAM Trinity foundation includes 59.15 crore Jan Dhan accounts opened as of August 26, 2026, and Aadhaar enrolments crossing 144 crore by March 2026. Aadhaar e-KYC has processed more than 2,458 crore transactions as of June 29, 2026, while DigiLocker has over 73.53 crore registered users and has issued 936.03 crore documents.

Regulatory Framework and Consumer Protection

India has established a robust regulatory ecosystem for fintech, including RBI's Framework for Self-Regulatory Organisation(s) in the Fintech Sector (SRO-FT, May 2024), Master Directions on Digital Payment Security Controls (2021), and Regulatory Sandbox framework introduced in August 2019. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act was notified in 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules in 2025. Additional consumer protection measures include a Digital Lending Apps (DLA) directory, National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in), Helpline 1930, and the SACHET portal for complaints regarding illegal deposit collection.

Enabling Technologies and Future Direction

Key enabling technologies in fintech include API, Cloud Computing, Biometrics, Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML). The way forward emphasizes deepening digital sovereignty, technological self-reliance, responsible innovation, and strengthening cybersecurity and data protection. India aims to share its digital expertise through partnerships with emerging economies and the Global South.
