Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 Announcement
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy announced that the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRESE) 2026 will be held from November 2nd to 5th, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Union Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi revealed that this summit will uniquely combine three major renewable energy events under one platform: BRESE 2026, the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly, and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has agreed to inaugurate the summit, reflecting India's commitment to renewable energy as a key pillar of Viksit Bharat and its contribution to global sustainable development. The event will bring together renewable energy developers, technology companies, manufacturers, battery storage firms, green hydrogen pioneers, financial institutions, international organizations, and investors, ensuring representation of the entire renewable energy value chain.
India's Renewable Energy Milestones and Global Outreach
India's credibility in renewable energy is demonstrated by its approaching milestone of 300 GW of installed non-fossil fuel capacity. The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is expected to cross 50 lakh beneficiary households in the coming weeks. The summit has been designed with a global outlook, with invitations extended to 34 countries for the BRESE Summit and 128 countries for the International Solar Alliance Assembly.
Regional Developments and Strategic Focus
Minister of State Shri Shripad Yesso Naik highlighted that India's renewable energy transition is being driven by collective efforts across states, with Rajasthan harnessing solar resources, Gujarat developing the world's largest hybrid renewable energy park at Khavda, and several other states advancing hydropower, floating solar, biomass, and decentralized renewable energy.
Secretary Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi outlined that India's renewable energy transformation has been built on four key pillars: policy stability, market creation, ecosystem development, and transmission infrastructure. The next phase will focus on strengthening system capabilities through hybrid renewable energy projects, battery energy storage systems, floating solar, agrivoltaics, and the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
The BRESE 2026 aims to foster new partnerships, catalyze investments, promote innovation, and strengthen international cooperation in the renewable energy sector. During the curtain raiser event, Minister Joshi unveiled the official logo 'URJHA Chakra' and launched the official digital portal and mobile application for the summit.
