India Hosts BRICS Culture Working Group 2026 Meetings

The second meeting of BRICS Culture Working Group (CWG) will be held on June 4-5, 2026 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
Three priority areas for discussion:
Creative economy, cultural and creative industries, copyright and artificial intelligence
Cultural heritage preservation and return of cultural property
Culture, climate and sustainable development
These priorities reflect commitment to innovation, ethical use of technology in cultural sectors, preserving cultural diversity, advancing heritage conservation and restoration cooperation, and engaging with post-2030 global sustainable development agenda
BRICS Culture Working Group derives its mandate from the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Culture signed between BRICS member countries' governments in 2015
India has previously hosted BRICS Culture Ministers' meetings in Goa (2016) and New Delhi (2021)
