India June Fuel Sales Overview
Preliminary data released by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) of the federal oil ministry indicates that India’s gasoline sales in June rose 7% year‑on‑year, reaching approximately 3.77 million metric tons. Diesel sales for the same month increased by 5.52% YoY, totaling 8.55 million tons, with the growth attributed primarily to demand from trucks.
Jet fuel sales showed a modest decline of 0.6%, falling to 726,000 tons in June. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sales, largely used for cooking, dropped sharply by 16.7% to 2.18 million tons, a reduction linked to government‑regulated usage amid supply disruptions originating from the Middle East.
These figures reflect a mixed trend in India’s petroleum product consumption for June, highlighting robust growth in gasoline and diesel demand while jet fuel and LPG volumes contracted.
