India launched Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) barrier-less tolling system at Mundka-Bakkarwala UER-II to enable seamless highway travel.
MLFF system expected to save 250 crore litres fuel annually, reduce 81,000 tonnes carbon emissions, and cut toll collection costs from 15% to 3-4%.
System integrates ANPR technology with FASTag for automated toll collection, with E-Notice penalties for non-payment within 72 hours.
NHAI projects annual savings of ₹5,000-6,000 crore from reduced operational costs and improved efficiency in toll collection.
