The Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Mines, Government of India, organized 'India Mining: Global Connect' as an international outreach interaction bringing together diplomatic missions from 19 countries to discuss participation and collaboration opportunities for India Mining Week 2026. The event was hosted by Shri Satish Chandra Dubey, Minister of State for Coal and Mines, and Smt. Rupinder Brar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, on September 30, 2026.
Participating countries included Malawi, Sri Lanka, Mozambique, Algeria, United States of America, Chile, Bhutan, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Russia, Iraq, Morocco, Venezuela, Spain, Poland, Mongolia, Zambia, France, Ghana, and the US Chamber of Commerce. Minister Dubey called for active cooperation from the global mining community and invited partner countries to facilitate participation of leading mining companies, major investors, and prominent delegates, including ministers responsible for mining from partner countries.
Smt. Rupinder Brar emphasized India's position as the world's fourth-largest economy and the significant role of the mining and minerals sector in supporting the country's growth ambitions. She invoked the principle of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' to highlight the spirit of global partnership in shaping the future of mining.
Discussions covered potential participation through country delegations, government representation, business delegations, speakers, technical experts, mining companies, technology providers, equipment manufacturers, investors, research institutions, and industry associations. Specific areas of mutual interest included critical minerals, mineral exploration, mining technology, heavy mining equipment, innovation, investment, trade, and resource development.
India Mining Week 2026 is scheduled for November 15-17, 2026, at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, and is expected to attract 25,000+ industry professionals, 500+ exhibitors and technology providers, 200+ speakers, 100+ conference sessions, 1,000+ government and PSU delegates, and 300+ mining companies from over 50 countries. The event will feature a high-level conference, international exhibition, technical sessions, leadership dialogues, B2B meetings, technology demonstrations, and product launches covering coal, metals, critical minerals, exploration, mining technology, automation, mine safety, sustainability, mineral processing, and resource efficiency.
The international outreach program will continue with further engagement planned with international governments, mining companies, technology providers, investors, and industry organizations leading up to the November summit.
