Union Minister Inaugurates Renovated Guna Head Post Office

Union Minister for Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the renovated Guna Head Post Office in Madhya Pradesh on September 17, 2026. The modernization project was completed at a cost of approximately ₹38 lakh and was executed in accordance with design guidelines from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, as part of the Department of Posts' nationwide initiative to modernize postal infrastructure.

The renovated facility features a well-organized token system that enables customers to avail services in an orderly manner without waiting in crowded queues. A digital display screen has been installed to provide information on timelines for various services, including the issuance of duplicate passbooks within one day. The modernization aims to provide a modern and improved environment for citizens availing postal and financial services, making services more convenient, accessible, and customer-friendly for the large population of Guna district.

Minister Scindia highlighted the digital transformation of postal services through the Dak Sewa and Dak Mitra apps, which allow citizens to access a range of postal services from their homes, reducing the need for physical visits to post offices. The renovation represents the Department of Posts' broader efforts in modernizing postal infrastructure, expanding services, strengthening digital delivery, and enhancing workforce capabilities to improve service delivery in Guna and surrounding areas.
