The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has launched initiatives like the Green Tug Transition Programme and renewable energy adoption to develop green ports.
Three major ports have been designated as Green Hydrogen Hubs, and 180 port development projects were approved in the last two years.
The Maritime India Vision 2030 sets 2030 targets including 60% renewable energy and a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions per cargo ton.
