The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has approved around 180 projects for port modernization and green initiatives over the last two fiscal years.
Three major ports have been designated as Green Hydrogen Hubs, and the Ministry has set 2030 targets for renewable energy, equipment electrification, and emission reductions.
Key 2030 targets include achieving over 60% renewable energy use, 50% port equipment electrification, and a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions per cargo ton.
