The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has launched initiatives like the Green Tug Transition Programme and renewable energy adoption to reduce emissions at ports.
Three major ports have been designated as Green Hydrogen Hubs, and 180 port modernization projects were approved in the last two fiscal years.
The Ministry has set 2030 targets including 60% renewable energy use and a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions per ton of cargo.
