Government Preparedness and Supply Management Measures

  • For commercial LPG, priority has been given to hospitals, educational institutions, pharma, steel, automobile, seed, agriculture sectors
  • Supply of 5 Kg FTL to migrant labour doubled based on avg. daily supply on 2nd and 3rd March 2026
  • Booking interval increased from 21 to 25 days in urban areas and up to 45 days in rural areas
  • Govt. of India vide letter dated 26.05.2026 requested Chief Secretaries of all States/UTs to monitor district wise HSD/MS offtake pattern

Enforcement and Monitoring Actions

  • During last 4 days, more than 6500 LPG raids conducted, more than 380 cylinders seized, 5 FIRs registered and 2 persons arrested
  • During last 2 days, about 900 petrol/diesel raids conducted wherein 417 litres of Petrol and 75715 litres of Diesel seized, 12 FIRs registered and 15 persons arrested
  • Inspections at more than 800 LPG distributorships conducted with penalties imposed on 45 distributorships
  • Inspections at more than 4660 retail outlets conducted with penalties imposed on 73 outlets and 562 outlets put under suspension

LPG Supply Status

  • Online LPG cylinder bookings increased to about 99% on an industry basis yesterday
  • Govt. of India has allocated total commercial allocation to 70% of pre-crises level including 10% reform based
  • During last 4 days, about 2.42 Lakh – 5 Kg FTL cylinders sold
  • Yesterday, around 2537 - 5kg FTL cylinders sold through about 176 camps
  • During last 4 days, total of 29,814 MT of Commercial LPG sold
  • During last 4 days, about 954 MT of Auto LPG sold by PSU OMCs

Natural Gas Supply and PNG Expansion

  • Supply to operating Urea Plants at around 99% of their average consumption over preceding six months
  • Gas supply to other industrial and commercial sectors enhanced up to 80%
  • 22 States/UTs receiving additional commercial LPG allocation linked to PNG expansion reforms
  • Natural Gas and Petroleum Products Distribution Order, 2026 notified under Essential Commodities Act, 1955 on 24.03.2026
  • Since March 2026, about 8.3 Lakh PNG connections gasified and infrastructure created for additional 2.91 Lakh connections

Crude Position and Refinery Operations

  • All refineries operating at high capacity with adequate crude inventories
  • Domestic LPG production from refineries increased to about 52 TMT/day
  • Inter-ministerial Joint Working Group (JWG) set up for petrochemical feedstock supply
  • Govt. permitted Oil Refinery companies to make minimum quantities of C3 & C4 streams available for critical sectors
  • Provision for C3-C4 molecules of 1120 MT/day made for Pharma, Chemical and Paint sector companies
  • Since 1st May 2026, more than 13870 MT of C3-C4 Molecules and more than 5380 MT of Butyl Acrylate sold to Chemical, Pharma and Paint Industry

Retail Fuel Availability and Pricing

  • Government reduced excise duties on petrol and diesel by Rs. 10/litre due to crude price increase
  • In more than 150 districts, sale of petrol and diesel increased by more than 30%
  • Decline in sale of private oil marketing companies (-38%) and bulk sale of PSU OMCs (-29%)

Maritime Safety and Shipping Operations

  • DG Shipping Control Room handled 10,841 calls and more than 24,098 emails since activation
  • In last 96 hours, 509 calls and 1,332 emails received from seafarers and stakeholders
  • Ministry facilitated safe repatriation of more than 3,422 Indian seafarers including 47 in last 96 hours
  • Port operations across India remain normal with no congestion reported

  • UAE airspace open with Indian and UAE carriers operating flights to India
  • Flights operating from Saudi Arabia and Oman to India
  • Qatar airspace partially open with Air India, Air India Express, Indigo and Qatar Airways operating
  • Kuwait airspace open with Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways operating
  • Bahrain airspace open with Air India Express, Indigo and Gulf Air operating
