Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, accompanied by French President Emmanuel Macron, participated in VivaTech 2026 in Paris, Europe's largest technology and start-up event. India serves as the AI Country Partner for this year's event, marking its largest ever presence with pavilions showcasing innovation across Artificial Intelligence, digital public infrastructure, health-tech, clean technologies, mobility, and advanced computing. Over 80 Indian deep-tech companies and start-ups are participating, displaying frontier technologies and practical solutions for industry, healthcare, sustainability, and mobility.
During his keynote address to tech entrepreneurs, start-ups, investors, and business leaders, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India's vision for human-centric AI and frontier technologies, emphasizing the growing India-France cooperation in emerging technologies. He noted technology's transformative impact in India, specifically mentioning digital payments, AI-enabled agricultural progress, and cutting-edge space applications. Following the address, both leaders interacted with Indian innovators showcasing their technologies.
This participation continues India's growing engagement with VivaTech, which includes PM Modi's 2021 keynote address, India being the first Country of the Year in 2022, and recent formalized collaboration with the Bengaluru Tech Summit. The 2026 participation holds special significance as it coincides with the India-France Year of Innovation celebration, expected to further deepen partnerships between Indian and French technology ecosystems.
